This December the festive lights decorating the John Page Turner Community House reflected the high spirits of the students within. December was busy with studying, but there was added excitement as students shared stories about holiday performances, parades, and parties. Much appreciated gifts were given to each of our students, provided by generous community members
Santa and Mrs. Claus made a stop in The Plains on December 21st and gave out gifts to all the kids. For some added fun, many took a carriage ride around Town and then there were snacks and awesome cupcakes to complete the visit. Special thanks to Santa and Mrs. Claus, the helper Elf, Shenandoah Carriage Company and Woodsy Retreat Homestead for all the help. It was a truly wonderful day!!!!
Parents Day Out was a huge success. Children decorated gingerbread houses, made luminaries as gifts for their parents, ate pizza, watched a holiday movie, and received gifts.
On Christmas Eve town volunteers lit up The Plains with over 300 luminaries. What a peaceful addition to the holidays.
